About this archive

Archetypes is the public rendering of a personal LLM wiki (the Karpathy pattern): densely linked entities, concepts, and sources, published with a hard sourcing standard. Every entry starts with primary material, long-form interviews, talks, and podcasts where the founder does the talking. Notes go into the wiki, where each new founder gets cross-referenced against everyone already in the archive before anything is written for publication.

The taxonomy itself stays provisional. When a founder refuses to fit an existing pattern, the boundaries get redrawn.

Every claim on this site is built from multi-source synthesis, not a single retelling. Quotes are verbatim-verified against the original interview, talk, or transcript before they are attributed to a founder. A citation integrity check runs on every build and fails the build if a claim is missing its source.

Coverage is two-tier and the difference is always labeled. Entries marked draft are cataloged but still waiting on their full essay and an editorial pass; nothing on this site claims more certainty than the sourcing behind it supports.

Archetypes is built and maintained by Aidan Olazabal, a student of founders working toward venture investing. Archetypes is the public edge of a multi-year study; his own arguments and predictions are published separately, on X, where they cite back to the pages on this site.

The engraved A is the archive's seal. It closes every essay the way a printer's device closes a book, and it is pressed in wax wherever the archive certifies something: a plate, a share card, an examination result.
